To the editor:
I am so sad. I sat down for lunch today. The great American classic - the BLT.
A tomato slipped out of my sandwich as I picked it up to eat. Jeez, I thought, I wonder about salmonella.
And the lettuce - has it been irradiated? The mayonnaise - do I really need 45 calories/tsp.? Bread has all those presevatives, most I cannot even pronounce.
Thank the Lord for the bacon. Until I heard the TV in the other room playing one of those stupid high cholesterol commercials.
I threw away my sandwich.
I ate the paper plate.

Thanks for a good laugh. I actually got two fresh home grown tomatoes off my two $3.99 plants not long ago; they tasted great; I hope they were ok to eat.
And as far as bread goes, you can buy some great stuff at the Best Little Bread Factory in downtown Mora. The bread there is excellent, lots of whole grains, white bread too, if you like that; no preservatives in anything. Now with the bacon, not sure what to say, except we all take our chances. Some say moderation is ok, so seems like a little now and then could be just fine. Eggs now and then are Ok too, I guess. Have a great day, and thanks for your levity! Good day!
